So, I found something today that caught my eye.

Apparently they have made a television show about my son. I don't know if I should be proud or not.

At any rate, if you wish to see...

My son happens to be the boy with the white hair. His name is Setsuna.

Ah, youth. If only it came with survival skills built in.

You might be surprised. I found that there are times I can yell pretty good if I want to, but I've been told that my quiet amusement at the expense of others makes me a twisted little cruller. I like to think of it as having a fun side.

If that makes you twisted, then I do wonder what that means for the nature of the rest of the world.

I can't be sure, I suppose for a good portion of the people on my world their is some kind of secret garden hidden deep inside of their hearts, but it's not often that they share their true selves.

True enough. People prefer to get as far away from their true selves as possible. It is the same with many things.

I wonder if it's the same for you too.

Believe me, I am in tune with my true nature... and as close to nature as possible.

Even with your dual identities, I'm sure you have your own secrets, but I won't pry. You're probably more honest with your desires than most.

Freedom is the thing that I value the most. It would be hypocritical for me to hide my desires in that case.

It's very admirable, it would explain your abhorrence as to why I would opt for my lack of freedom.

It is a unique conflict. On the one hand, you are following your own desires. On the other, those desires are to serve the whims of others.

I think love is the only thing that could make me act so irrationally.

An emotion I struggle to understand. But I can admire that.

It's not an easy emotion I agree, it makes fools out of us sometimes. But what can I do?

Relish in it. It is the emotions and desires of humans and their ilk that most interests me. Out of them comes disaster and chaos, joy and glory. Without them, even creatures such as you are little more than intelligent beasts.

With them, you are remarkable.

I guess it's better than being cold and distant like a figure frozen in some painting...impervious, but detached. I suspect that's what real angels would be like.

The angels I know are... not quite that way. They are logical, and many of them care little for anyone save themselves, and YHVH. But they have a false type of love among them. Not for each other... but for Him. For that sake they are like frightened children, desperate to please, and forsaking all else save Him. Not knowing what it is that they are doing, they obediently cast aside all other existences in the thought that it will make Him happy.

Ah...I remember, Lucifel told me once what she thought of God. She said that she had turned her back to the heavens long ago and that lust was her only god...my heart is my flesh is my will. She told me she didn't believe in a God that didn't recognize her love...when you put a single being above all others. She stopped believing in God because he doesn't punish bad people and he doesn't help weak people. I can't say I understand it, but I thought it was fine as long as there was something that gave her joy.

I cannot claim to know the situation in your world. But if your God and mine are similar, I can tell you this.

Gods survive only by belief. Even if killed, a God will return as long as even one person holds faith in them. Their power, too, is fueled by it. This is why the Great Will seeks belief above all else.

But...

...at its core, therein lies a problem.

How can one believe in a God that will hold back from His people? Mankind is now billions strong. No matter what calamities occur, no one can claim to be "saved" by God. No one can claim to be punished by God.

But despite that, every time those calamities pass by, there are many who breath a sigh of relief. "Thank god!" they exclaim.

The truth is, that mankind was never intended to have its hands held. To be guided through life.

Mankind grows through struggle. It learns, it breathes, and it becomes more beautiful the more it has to fight for its existence. Those who have not forgotten understand.

In the past, God tested those children with struggles of all kinds. When they survived, that was their pride. That was their own glory.

Now...

...He has changed. In your world, perhaps He is the same. In mine... everything is out of balance. Including Him.

I only know God through science, which is to say I can't believe in anything or anyone with that much influence...not blindly.

If He exists or if He doesn't I don't know...if belief keeps Him alive...it could be.

I can only think of God existing in my own heart and there He is not bias.

I don't know anything about the universal God, but I'd like to understand if it's not something you're loathe to speak about from time to time.

"So long as the Lord does not live in you, all beings hold darkness in their hearts". I suppose that sentiment goes true in that regard.

Blind adoration and following is a fool's errand; that much is true. Humans have lost their connection to nature, and to the supernatural. This is the cause of most demonic outbreaks.

Without belief, demons too shall falter and die.

And their rage against the humans can be fierce.

Your God may be different. Or He may even be gone. But if you wish, I will speak of mine to you.

So the Wicca have got it right, you think? [He's making an attempt at humor here]

It is interesting that belief can be a very powerful thing...though I suppose our beliefs can bring us together and tear us apart so I'm not surprise that it's enough to cause the endurance of Gods and Demons.

Like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I wouldn't mind if you spoke of Him, it seems to be a topic you're passionate about. Naturally I would be interested.

Perhaps the Wicca understand it better than most. [A light chuckle.]

But very few humans truly understand the power they have.

Is it so surprising for me to be passionate about it? He is my greatest opponent, after all. I know Him better than He knows himself now.

This world is mine. Humans are mine. Regardless of His desires now, I have chosen to take their protection in hand.

No, it's not surprising, it's just that if it's something you're passionate about then it's a way for me to know you.

Hm...some might think that's greedy...but you're kind...

Do you think so?
